Because that's where the magic happens. The real yoga. Real yoga is not a matter of lineage or having gone to India or being able to attain a specific posture. Postures do not confer enlightenment. Practice courts enlightenment and creates inner connection and awareness. Real yoga is the yoga you own. Not by perfecting it. By creating it, breathing it, exploring it on your own time, on your own mat so you understand it well enough to have questions and feel the oppositions playing in a pose. When you have a real question about how a pose feels, then you own that pose. Ownership is not about having the answers, because then the pose would be static, finished - dead. Ownership is about a living relationship with how your body and breath are connected, with the power of your own attention. When you have a question, your practice is alive. Practice is all.
